Becoming a successful litigator is a hard fought skill for an attorney. It takes a unique combination of the mastery of subject matter combined with an ability to effectively communicate it to a judge and jury. Not all attorneys successfully combine these skills. The attorneys at Peterson Paletta have been recognized by their peers as outstanding litigators throughout their careers.
Attorney Terese Paletta has tried over 100 cases both as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney. Her advocacy skills were sought after when she was asked to serve as a Special Prosecuting Attorney on select Capital Offenses in the 8th Circuit. Additionally, she has argued both criminal and civil cases in front of the Michigan Court of Appeals and has participated in the preparation of cases before the Michigan and United States Supreme Courts.
During his 16 years at the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office, Attorney Eric Matwiejczyk was the Chief of the Narcotics and Major Crimes unit. His success there led to him being appointed lead prosecutor in Cold Homicide cases. Eric has successfully tried numerous homicide cases, major drug cases, firearm cases, criminal sexual conduct cases and has served as a trial consultant on capital cases throughout the United States. Eric also has extensive experience in child custody, divorce and complex civil litigation cases.
